My 8 year old JennAir range stopped roasting while cooking dinner on Thanksgiving. After a certain amount of hand wringing and googling about oven failures, it became pretty clear that the most probable cause was a failing/failed ignitor that was not drawing enough current to hold open the gas valve (ovens apparently no longer use 'flame eyes' to determine ignition, but depend on current draw as the primary indicator to maintain gas flow). My original intent was to buy from a local appliance parts store, but when I found there price was 3x higher than Amazon, my focus turned utterly on-line. I purchased replacement ignitors for both the oven and broiler units. They came with the same connectors as the old units. Additional components were included in the event of a 'near miss' on compatability. Replacement was not a snap, but more of a contortion issue in working inside the oven than a matter of technical expertise. The replacement units work great All is well again in paradise.
