This is a factory quality issue and they ended up discontinuing and "upgrading" the model line (according to the big box store I purchased it from)
Be careful; only purchase with iron-clad return policy; test out the burners right away; low should be low; medium should be medium, etc.
After too many burnt offerings you quickly realize The Consumer is the Test Lab.
