When my wife bought our new home, this range was installed. We had our reservations about it from first glance because it just looks and feels cheap but since it came with the house we figured we would use it for a few years and then replace it. Now, four months later, we're replacing it. Within a couple weeks of its first use the ignition on one of the burners went out. The repair man that came out sighed when he saw what brand it was and said he runs more service calls for Premier brand stoves than any other brand. He figured out what the problem was but told us it may take a long time to fix because Premier parts are nearly impossible to come by because no one is willing to make aftermarket parts for such a pile of garbage and Premier itself doesn't sell its own parts.
As of the time of this writing the stove still isn't fixed.
Another problem is the finish paint on the outside. Anytime you cook ANYTHING the paint turns brown. This is because Premier doesn't use a heat resistant coating over the paint so any amount of heat literally burns the paints surface. It comes off with a little scrubbing but realize that you're not just scrubbing off brown spots, you're literally scrubbing your paint off. We're curious how long it's going to take until we scrub through to raw steel.
The burners themselves are difficult to control. The distance you have to turn the knob to go from off to full on is only about a quarter of an inch so fine adjustments of heat are very hard. The oven doesn't hold temperature worth a darn either. If you set the oven at 350 it will heat to nearly 400, then turn off and wont turn on again until about 310. This is a swing of 90 degrees! Something that cooks long, like a braised beef, won't notice, but with something fast like cookies you'll either burn or undercook them nearly every time.
Speaking of the oven, there's no safety to ensure that when you turn it on that it's actually on. You turn the knob, the ignitor clicks, and the gas starts flowing. Twice now the oven didn't light but gas poured out anyway. It took choking on the fumes to realize that we were being gassed by our own oven. You'll notice the same problem with the stove control knobs. A light brush against the knobs will open the valve enough to let gas out but not light it. Countless times I've realized the stovetop was pouring gas out because someone brushed against the knobs.
We've tried to contact Premier about this problem but their customer service number consists of an answering machine that no one obviously checks because we've never gotten ca call back.
If I could give this product zero stars I would. It doesn't even deserve the one I had to give it. Avoid this range at all costs.
