I thought I would do this as a service. I bought the 48inch outdoor grill with wok, with warming drawer, with side burners, with rotisserie, with subzero ice maker, with sub zero fridge in an integrated assembly for use in a semi-covered outdoor BBQ setup in Maui. I think the cost was over $20k and it was installed by the Thermador factory representatives. Everything was installed 5 years ago. I'll just go through a quick litany of issues. The fridge has had to be repaired twice, the IceMaker has had to have fans installed even though the specifications say that it can be installed with minimum clearance. The ice maker usually produces soggy ice - right near melting, and this is during winter months. We have had service people - also authorized work on it at least 7 times and we are presently having to put in more ducting and fans. The igniters have failed three times. The rotisserie has failed twice requiring about $300 in repair each time. The warming drawer needed complete replacement in the 2nd year and all of the fittings and electrical were deeply rusted and corroded. On top of this, I have never liked using it as it seemed uncontrollably hot. This is an LP conversion from the factory and the proper orifices were installed. When we brought up the problem to the installer servicer he first tried to solve it, but then said "they are all like this - there is no control". Last year I finally started to see if I could solve the problem and found that the continuous "infinity" adjustment controls on the front actually had no control - only on and off. They are market Off -Lite - Hi - and Lo. But none of the 3 zone controls adjusted the flame at all. We figured that something had been improperly installed. Integrated as part of this on the right side are two side burners. They work well, with continuous adjustment, as you would expect. The same with the Wok. I started probing more deeply and went back to the original manual for this model as well as two others in the series and it said that all burners have infinitely adjustable control. I finally went to the installers manual and saw the phrase: "LP options in the 48" inch version have no control". This was obviously discovered after the units were designed as whatever the problem that arose that kept them from offering this feature in the actual deliveries of their product - EVEN THOUGH THEIR INSTRUCTION MANUAL DESCRIBED IT AS A FEATURE - a feature that makes the entire BBQ useless if reasonable control of heat is important in your cooking. As I have gathered more information trying to figure out what to do next, I have learned that on Maui the authorized service men are recommending to people that they DO NOT BUY THERMADOR/BOSCH. It has been 5 years since I purchased this, so I don't know if I have any ability to claim damages, but it was never capable of fitness for use, so possibly there is a chance at some recovery, but my intent now is to warn people away from this brand. I have been doing some research and see that these are not isolated problems and that there are many brands superior to Thermador, some at quite a savings. - Just using this as a forum.

Handsome is not what handsome does in the case of Kitchen Aid's Gorgeous George of a range. The oven is erratic but runs cool, the warming drawer is useful though not accurate. But it is in the no brainer category of range top functions that the product can drive you crazy. Four burners boil water at different rates. That is because some cool down before the boiling point. The dials are not calibrated accurately. You cannot cook rice or oatmeal without watching the pot. Why? because the simmer functions run too hot on one burner and too cool on others. It's boil over or sit uncooked. Which is a safety hazard; caution mental health at stake. The Whirlpool warranty service from the manufacturer consists of advising the repairman to ask the customer if her pots are flat on the bottom. They will deny you have a problem or you will be told to get a second opinion from a repairmen outside your area who will take days to respond. The problem isn't with the dealer. It is with manufacturers who buy reliable competitors like Amana, become virtual monopolies and phase out service to dealers.

We bought an NXR range at a local retailer. The good about the NXR range is that it has very nice burners, an infrared broiler and a large oven with very nice slide out racks. It also comes at a great price (1899 and always ask for the middle grate and ask for it to be free!).
The first unit arrived, in a box, and had a dent on the left front (note the oven door closes into a frame, it does not close flush like other ovens do) frame. The oven door itself was mounted crooked and the side had scratches.
Refused the unit, got a new one a few days later. Installed, tried, smelled gas. Turns out this unit had a heavy leak in the main gas line within the unit.
Returned that one as well and traded up to a Bertazonni range (slightly higher in price).
Also note that the NXR has fairly flimsy parts. The middle cover (between the burners) is flimsy and loose (it slides when cleaning). The back vent is flimsy at best. And in general it is not of high quality external materials when comparing it to a Bertazonni.
If the quality of the materials and the quality control were not so poor this would be a real steal! Alas, it is one of these "to-good-to-be-true" things.

I am writing this review to help spare others what we are going through right now. We bought a DCS grill seven years ago and the customer service was amazing. We love the grill and the customer service experiences we had during that purchase led us to purchase the DCS 48in gas cooktop with grill and griddle. I wish we had realized they have been bought by another company! Our NEW cooktop we paid around $3800.00 for came to use with missing parts and a drip try that was installed so poorly it would not open. The tray alignment is off and it bent the frame. We called DCS immediately expecting the same amazing customer service we had gotten several years ago and were stunned at their reaction which was basically "too bad". They refused to replace the cooktop and were of no help at all. We went as far up the chain as possible with nothing but the same run around. They insisted that we get it serviced - OUR BRAND NEW $3800.00 COOKTOP - serviced! They would not even consider helping us until we had a service company come out and try to fix our new appliance. They said that the service company would have to deem it irreparable before they would "try to resolve it" - not replace it. The servicemen worked on the drip tray and although it now pulls out, it has to be forced. They are ordering the missing parts from DCS and those should be in sometime after Christmas. When you purchase an appliance that costs that much and claims to be a high-end product, you expect the customer service to match their claims. This cooktop should have been replaced immediately and we cannot believe the hoops we are having to go through. Furthermore, we are afraid of the issues we may have to face in the future. What else is wrong with this thing - how did it get damaged - is the quality control so poor that they marked parts as included yet they weren't? Did they actually inspect this cooktop before it left their warehouse? We are so angry and are trying to work through the process but I am strongly urging you to choose something else!!!

I have this product in the stainless steel but it's the 5 burner one. The 5th burner went out already in less than a year! Does not turn on. The top part is very hard to clean it stays greasy looking and hard to keep it shining and clean looking. Also calling it a double oven is not accurate. If you use the top part as an oven instead of a broiler it will burn your food on the bottom because the heat source is right there so you can't really use it as an oven without burning the bottom. I made cookies on the top and the bottom burned while the top didn't brown. Not a good product I don't recommend it. Not worth the price.

Well, I researched kitchen ranges for an entire week. I even joined Consumer Reports and left no stone unturned in my ques to find a quality range. After doing a well thought out search it looked like Whirlpool Gold was the way to go for a new range and for my budget. NOT! I just had this model GFE471LV installed today and it is so cheaply made that I am very disappointed. I guess $1,000 doesn't go far for a new range today. Unbelievable that now consumers have to spend over $2k for a quality-solid dependable range!!
First, the oven door is so thin that when they were installing it--it kept flopping open. My other range's door was thick and very heavy--quality all the way. Second, the bottom oven drawer which I use for my pasta pot, etc. is too small and made out of the cheapest metal that it feels like a child's toy! The rollers are plastic and opening the drawer is extremely difficult. Again cheap, cheap, cheap. My heavy stainless steal pasta pot will more than likely bend it. I miss my old stove and now wish I had paid to just have it fixed. I had no idea what a rip off kitchen appliances are today.
I will have to go back to the stores and look again and return this dud. I do not see this Whirlpool range going the distance at all. What has happened to kitchen appliances out there? Are there no quality ranges for $1,000? Much of my research revealed that there is a huge problem with quality in free standing ranges now. It looks like consumers have to pay over $2k for a reliable range and paying that high price may not guarantee that it will go the distance. Longevity seems to be obsolete now.
I wanted a Bosch range but discovered that they are not the German company they once were because their ranges are made by Frigidare! How did the worst appliance company come to build one of the best appliance companies ranges?
I hope that consumers will use Amazon to report reviews on their kitchen appliances. I do believe that only consumers can become the real voice of what is or is not a quality appliance out in the market today. Consumer reports just did not give me reliable information at all on this purchase. I have since found that others feel the same way.

As I prepared to purchase a new range, I did a lot of research on the internet. While there were many glowing reports for the cafe dual fuel, there were just as many highly critical reports. What explained such a discrepancy? Bad quality control? Maybe. Inexperienced users? Perhaps.People expecting one thing and getting another? Possible, I suppose. I didn't know. But I noticed the same thing for all brands and all types of ranges. It would seem that there is no range that is universally recognized as the best.Likewise, I noticed that people get pretty worked up about ranges.
How could I cut through all that and find a range that I really like? The first thing I did was talk to 3 different appliance dealers that sell nearly all brands and all of them said that GE does ranges better than it does anything else and furthermore that GE knows ranges better than most. That was helpful. I was really interested in dual fuel. I also liked the looks of the Cafe. But then on the other hand, my sister liked her Bosch dual fuel range that is similar in style.
Eventually I settled on the GE because it seemed more substantial. I did this tentatively; crossing my fingers; hoping that actual problems were rare. I assumed that those who got stuck with a lemon were more motivated to go on the internet and write something then those who had a stove that worked well.
When my new range was delivered, I was very interested in putting it through its paces and seeing if I agree or disagree with those who wrote against it. Also I wanted to see if I made the right choice. The chief complaints people seem to have against the GE dual fuel Cafe range are as follows:
1. Burners not calibrated well
2. Lower oven does not heat fast enough.
3. Griddle is not hot enough
4. Control knobs get HOT!
5. The mess! Oh the Mess!
6. Water doesn't boil fast enough!
Here's what I have concluded about these complaints after a couple of day fiddling with the The Cafe:
1. Burner calibration:For me and my range, this complaint was not true. I took a sauce pan, about 8" in diamater, filled it with water, put it on the biggest burner, brought it to a boil. When it come to a boil, I was immediately struck by how even the bubbles were in size and spacing. I've used three different stoves over the years and never saw this before. As I lowered the heat, the bubbles merely got smaller...but still evenly spaced. Wow!. Nice, even heat and such a delicately broad range even in rate of boil!I did this on all the burners and had the same experience. This cooktop has great control. Cooked bacon on it this morning and easily found the sweet spot for perfect bacon....barely sizzling.
2. Lower oven does not heat fast enough: Yep there is some truth to this complaint. But it depends on what is meant by "fast enough".It does require 20 minutes to warm up. This is not the main oven, and I never expected it to perform like my main oven. If I'd wanted two main ovens, I'd get dual wall ovens. I'm just happy and somewhat amazed that I get to have an extra little oven in my storage drawer! (and yes... you can still use it for storage!)It'll be handy the 20 or so times a year when I want to cook two different things at different temperatures. For those times, I'll simply plan ahead and give the lower oven time to warm up.I did a pan of corn muffins (20 minute baking time) in this lower oven as I cooked some ribs(70 minute cooking time) in the bigger oven. As I put the ribs in the big oven, I turned on the lower oven to warm up. I put the corn muffins in so that they would be done the same time as the ribs. Both ribs and muffins turned out great. They don't recommend things like pizza or roasts in the lower oven....no way to clean the upper surface. So only breads, cookies and non splattering things go in the lower oven.
3. Griddle not hot enough: I think this complaint is just a case impatience and a related lack of reading. The manual tells exactly how to set it for each food..and how long to warm it up. For pancakes it is setting 4 with a 10 minute warm up. It made perfect pancakes!Better than my stand-alone griddle (which, by the way, takes 7 minutes to warm up and doesn't have the benefit of my exhaust hood). The cafe griddle is heavy... and gives very even heat across the whole surface. The pancakes I've cooked on it turn out identical and even in color. Never cooked such perfect pancakes. In the reviews, I hear people talking about cooking sausage, bacon, and things that splatter. I would never do that on this griddle in my kitchen. Massive amounts of grease spattering everywhere is most uncool.Funny thing though, GE put grease channels in this griddle as if you'd use it to fry greasy/sizzling things, a sales gimmick no doubt. But pancakes, eggs, french toast, rubens; all would do very well on there. It did a marvelous grilled cheese. But only held three of them (larger sandwich size bread). It's kind of nice having a little griddle ready to go.It's smaller size makes it easy to clean.
4. Control knobs get hot. There is some truth to this complaint. While I was cooking the ribs in the oven, I boiled a big pan of water on the front burner just to see how hot the knobs get as both stove top and oven are used at once...which is the situation that generates this complaint. They do indeed get hot. But I would not say it was a burning temp. I could still hold them constantly....but only on the part that was farthest away from the range (the knobs are long and project outward). Tonight I did convection setting...with pizza in there. Barely any heat in the knobs.
5. Mess! This complaint has some validity too. Range tops do get messy.I suspect that these are first time gas stove users who are making this comments.Gas stoves can be quite a bit harder to keep clean than smooth tops or electrics. But the way this one is constructed, I think the cleaning will be a lot easier than any other gas stove I've had. The burners are sealed and skirted so that the seam between burner and the sheetmetal is not an issue. I'll like not having to try to clean that!
6. Water doesn't boil fast enough: Okay, this is one of consumer report's issues too. They seem to mark all gas ranges down because they don't boil water as quickly as an electric. But I contend that there's a lot more to cooking than boiling water fast! A lot of people don't know this, but gas burners take longer to boil water than electric or ceramic. Yep. it's just a fact. you'd expect all that impressive fire to heat faster, but no.Where gas shines is in it's ability to simmer and saute without scorching. Gas is much gentler and more capable of doing foods just right and at a much higher level of flavor. That's why I like it. If all you do is boil water to heat prepackaged meals, I wouldn't recommend a gas stove. But if you like to cook, to saute, simmer, caramelize, reduce, and deglaze you gotta get gas! One other thing that is more critical with gas is the size of the pan.If you put a little pan on a big gas burner, a lot of heat's going to blast up the sides of the pot.
In Conclusion, the GE Cafe Dual fuel is, so far the most impressive range I've ever owned. To my mind the extra money spent was well worth it. If my impression changes I'll amend this later. I did buy an extended warrantee just to be safe. Seems like appliances don't last as long as they used to.
P.S. Here's what ranges I've used in the past just to give you an idea of what I am comparing to so you can understand where I'm coming from: an Older Hotpoint Electric (from the late 70's/alright ), A GE Gas...(mid-level from '95/Good), and Jenn-air gas (2003..slide in/ very disappointing and found perverse joy in seeing it carted away)----Update at the 1 year mark February 22, 2011----After nearly a year of use, my opinion of this range has not changed. It is still the best range I've ever owned.I thought I'd add a few comments that come from my experience over time.
1. Pan size. I wouldn't use anything smaller than 6 inches. Have a revere 4 inch which is useless on it. None of the burners handle really small pans well.
2. Convection bake.I make my own granola, this requires spreading it out in a single layer on two jelly roll pans. In every other oven I've used, I've had to rotate the pans two or three times during the baking in order to achieve even cooking. Not so with this oven in convection mode! I put the pans in on two different shelves and and don't turn them at all. The granola comes out perfect. In addition, instead of having to adjust your time, the oven automatically knocks off 25 degrees when you go into convection. Thus, old recipes that are non-convection can be cooked for the same time period. (I remember one reviewer who complained that his oven never reached the temp he set. Perhaps this is why.)
3. Convection roast. (This differs from convection bake in that it doesn't take 25 degrees off... their might be other technical differences that I am not I don't know about.) One of my family's favorite things is when I cut up potatoes, coat with olive oil, sprinkle with rosemary and garlic and bake at 375, it takes an 60 minutes plus a little extra time under the broiler to give them a golden crust in a conventional oven. But in Convection roast, it takes about 40 minutes with no broiler at the end and...Read more›

My primary problem with this range (which came with the house I bought) has been with the door. Three times the hinges have become bent, meaning the door does not seal properly when closed (and allows the heat to escape out the top and side of the oven). Each time I have paid my (very reliable) appliance repair man almost $300 for the new hinges. Once, in addition to the hinges bending, the interior sheet of glass cracked and broke from the heat of the oven (and, no, I hadn't banged the door shut or done anything other than reasonably use my oven). In total, I have spent $1.2K to have this oven repaired in 5 years. Last week, when the hinges bent again, my repair man called KitchenAid and asked for them to pick up the tab, since the most recent, previous failure occurred only 9 months ago. KitchenAid's response? I was clearly "abusing" my oven. Huh? Are you serious? Really? REALLY? Since when is using a product for its intended purpose (baking, roasting) an "abuse" of the product? If KitchenAid wanted its customers to only look at and admire their pretty range, then KitchenAid should clearly disclose the primary flaw of this appliance -- THE DOOR IS WAAAAAYYYY TO HEAVY FOR THE HINGE -- and alert potential customers to the fact that the range is a decorative item only. Engineer the darn door to suit the hinge (or vice versa) correctly, or compensate your customers for your engineering failure, but don't call a customer's routine and normal use of the oven "abuse"! Secondarily, the electronic buttons which set the oven temperature and the timer are forever freezing for no reason -- sometimes I can set my desired time and temperature, but equally frequently I cannot, in which I have to adjust my cooking time or temperature to suit the whims of this appliance. How exactly has KitchenAid developed a brand that it can charge such a large price premium for? I can only imagine that most of the people who buy KitchenAid ranges don't actually use them. They are, after all, very attractive to look at. In short, if you want a pretty, non-functional and overpriced appliance, this is the one for you! Alternatively, if you would like a range that has a prayer's chance of functioning as promised, and which the manufacturer stands behind when it fails, run away and don't look back!

Beautiful range. Both oven and top grills are a joy to use as well as digital controls. The high power burner and low flame burner are both great.
There are some issues. S. Steel looks great clean but shows every spill and needs constant cleaning to restore it's looks. If your countertop juts out the stove may not slide as far back without some cutting of the countertop or additional alteration. Do NOT remove oven door. Directions for replacing it are very poor. It took us 35 minutes to replace and needed tools. The hinges need to be straight and only one person can hold the 25 lb. door and slide it in. Be warned. Also, the burner nobs turn the opposite direction of most stoves and you end up wondering why it won't turn off when you are actually turning the wrong way.
But, it still deserves 4 or 5 stars.

Frigidaire Gallery Series Gas Range - Bisque Review

Frigidaire Gallery Series Gas Range - Bisque

We have the black color - I hate it because it streaks something awful and I already have 2 noticable scratches after only 6 months. However, I don't think that is the fault of this particular brand but just of the black finish in general. I wish I had stuck with the bisque color that the Lowes salesman laughed at.
Other than that, this oven is reliable and performs ok. I do use the Speed Bake button but I can't say I have noticably different results and have not adjusted any of my recipes. I do think frozen pizzas come out noticably better with Speed Bake. I think we paid about $750 for this oven 6 months ago. It's not bad and I would probably pay the extra $200 for the "convectin" Speed Bake feature because I think it adds resale value, but I know it's not a true convection oven - just a fan inside the oven.

We purchased this range just over a year ago as a part of a major remodel of our home. We originally wanted the GE Cafe' series but were talked into this new Electrolux unit by our local appliance center as being "more reliable". This range has been a nightmare from the day it was installed. We have endured multiple repair calls for various major and minor issues:
1) The first time we used the lower oven (Thanksgiving Day 2008, the day after installation) the door locked shut and could not be opened - with rolls in the oven. We shut off the heat but could still not open the door for 10-15 more minutes until the rolls were ruined. The dealer attempted to repair this issue a few times, with instruction and new parts from Electrolux techs. One repair was a six hour marathon requiring insulation to be removed and elements replaced. The oven worked a few times without locking and then the problem recurred. Two more sets of parts including replacing the lower oven door with an identically designed unit still didn't fix the problem. Electrolux techs clearly were grasping for solutions and had no clue as to how to effect the repair.
2)The main oven would take 20-22 minutes to pre-heat, even on the "rapid pre-heat setting". Were told by techs that it is the way the range is designed because of the "hidden element." The replacement range pre-heats a little more quickly.
3)Two of the four gas burners would not ignite regularly. The igniters would click but not ignite. This was an intermittent problem. The tech said that we weren't hitting "just the right spot" on the dial when turning it on. Even if correct (which I dispute - we had no problem with the other two burners) what kind of poor design requires that kind of operational precision?
4) After one month the center metal grid snapped in half while cleaning (using light pressure - honest folks!) Vendor replaced the item without question.
5) After about 10 months the electronic control panel would intermittently not work when trying to operate the main oven. The temperature could be set, but after pressing the start touchpad the temperature would reset and not turn on the oven.
I called Electrolux/Frigidaire directly and due to the long record of repairs and reported problems, and since the problems could not be fixed, they replaced the entire unit without argument. The new unit arrived in about a week and was installed by the original vendor. After one use (10 minutes of boiling eggs) all of the ignitors went out. We have been lighting the range burners with matches for a week while waiting for the repair parts.
Pros:
1) Cool, very high tech electronic touch pad control panel.
2) Attractive appearance - clever, graduated power up oven lights.
3) Very smooth gliding racks in the main oven.
4) Good self-cleaning performance.
5) Small lower oven has limited use due to size but is very convenient to have for small items and warming.
6) Efficient heating by all four gas burners. Good variation of sizes and BTU outputs.
Cons:
1) Unreliable - Doesn't work well (a pretty big con.)
2) The main oven is relatively small in capacity and shallow front to back - a large pizza won't fit unless the edge is folded up against the front door or rear of the oven. We had to remove all racks but one and set it on the lowest guiderail to accomodate a moderate sized turkey.
3) The lower over is very small (height-wise)...can't put a casserole with a lid on it in the oven.
4) Stainless surfaces scratch very easily, even with careful cleaning. A single grain of salt scratched the SS surface of the cooktop the first time we cleaned it. We have since learned to carefully daub all "specks" off of the cook top before wiping it clean.
5) The oven racks are difficult to remove and replace to adjust baking levels. All racks but the center rack must be removed if using the convection setting to allow for "proper circulation of heated air" (per owner's manual.)
6) The oven fan runs for over two hours after the unit is turned off - a cool down feature I suppose. (This may be a "pro" for some people but is annoying.)
7) The exhaust from the oven vents out the FRONT of the unit instead of the rear or rear/top which would take advantage of the overhead exhaust fan. Uncomfortable when cooking and baking at the same time and really fills the kitchen with acrid smelling fumes during the self cleaning cycle.
8) Slooooow to pre-heat.
We may just have been unlucky and received two "lemons", but with so many good alternatives on the market in this price range I would recommend looking to another manufacturer for a dual fuel slide in unit. If another breakdown occurs within the next few months we will get rid of this range at a loss and buy from another company. However,if we experience no problems I will return and edit this rating up to "three stars".

I've had this for less than 5 years and it's now good for the trash.
First, upon receiving it, we had problems with the electronic control and it had to be replaced altogether. Took over a month to get the part and fix it.
Second, when the oven is used, there's a cooling fan that starts up and it's quite noisy. It doesn't stop until the oven is cool, so even after it's shut down, the fan continues to run, ruining any nice and cozy candle dinner you might have planned.
Lastly, we used the auto-clean feature for the first time after about 4 years and it simply killed the display again. We called the repair guy and just to open it and determine what had to be changed would've required to completely disassemble the thing since the door was locked in place by the auto-clean (safety measure). Even then, any part to be changed would've cost (with labour and all) around $1000. So it's now headed for the trash and we'll buy a new one.
DON'T buy any of these Kitchen Aid series.

Bertazzoni : Professional X304GGVXLP 30 Pro-Style Gas Range Review

Bertazzoni : Professional X304GGVXLP 30 Pro-Style Gas Range

We looked for about a year, comparing ranges, and finally decided on the Bertazzoni. We couldn't be happier.
What we love:
Stove top - It has 4 different burners, which allow you to simmer, heat fast, use small or large pans, and really regulate the heat. The double burner (one burner inside the other) comes in handy to evenly heat larger pans -- I can hardly wait to try to make some paella.
One feature we really like is the "reverse" regulation with the knobs. If you want really low flame, you crank the knob to where it stops. In most ranges it works the other way around - the low flame is in the lowest position - with gas ranges it is really hard to find the precise spot between having a low flame, and having no flame. The way the Bertazzoni is designed, your burner is on and you are sure you have it at the lowest setting.
It is well built, and sturdy. The guy that installed it thought it was a Viking from the weight and way it feels -- but it is about 1/3 of the price of a Viking.
It has a 2 year warranty. We needed some adjustments and the lighting mechanism of two burners was failing a few weeks after it was delivered. I called Bertazzoni - the parts arrived in a few days, and the technician was here the day after the parts arrived. Excellent customer service.
No digital controls!!! When looking for ranges, we found most of them have digital controls. I had heard that some of these ranges (especially in the $1000-$3000 range) have very noisy fans. After talking to a few sales people, I found out that since the digital controls are not supposed to be exposed to the heat, these ranges need an additional cooling/fan element to keep the digital controls from getting too hot. At that point I was on a mission to find a good range with manual knobs.
It has a beautiful design! We didn't buy it for the looks, but it is certainly a bonus.
FEATURES WE LIKE, BUT MAY NOT BE FOR EVERYONE
The oven is relatively small, as ovens go. It is wide, but not very tall. You can fit 2 pyrex with no problem, but you probably wouldn't be able to fit a turkey and a pyrex. Since we seldomly need that big of a volume in an oven, we solved the problem by buying a convection-microwave for under $300 for the rare occassions when we need more oven volume.
On the positive, since it is a smaller oven, it takes less energy to heat up, saving up on gas usage.
When the oven is on, the sound of the fan is noticeable. We don't mind it, but it is something you may want to consider.
SOME LIMITATIONS
The minimum theoretical temperature of the oven is 275 degrees - so if you often cook or bake dishes that require much lower temperature, this may not be the oven for you. We recently made some dishes that required the oven to be 250 degrees. We found we could achieve this by having the oven at the lowest setting, and setting the trays in the top oven shelf.
Since the controls are not digital (see above), it takes a little getting used to the oven knob to get the precise temperature control. We have a $5 oven thermometer, and that works very well.
For the price and the quality, we couldn't be happier.

I love the oven part of this range. The true convection works well.
The stove top is organized well, but the "Power Plus" burner is a huge flaw. This burner, while well suited for very high heat tasks such as boiling water, has no real range. It goes from 'all on' to 'nearly off' by turning from "6" to "5". Further, the burner on its low setting works more like a candle or sterno, concentrating the heat in one area at the middle of the pan instead of distributing it.
I even went so far as to send pictures to Frigidaire to see if it was broken, but they confirmed that it is working correctly.
All in all, I feel like I'm short the use of one burner for most cooking tasks, which is extremely disappointing. Without this fatal flaw, I would have recommended this range to anybody.
