It doesn't mean it is indestructable but you can stop worry about breaking it if you drop it on the floor or when you wash it with hard detergents. It comes with 2 height adjusters (for the Mr. Coffee spring-load flow stopper). My apology for not getting all the terminologies right. I bought this to replace my 4-cup carafe and the small adjuster works fine.
I have a nit-pick with the design. The spout is too shallow, consequently, the carafe doesn't pour right. What happens is that when you pour the coffee, the shallow spout doesn't give a fast enough flow so the coffee will get to the level of the lid. Subsequently, it will pour coffee on the side of the carafe.
Solutions: 1) pour slowly. I hold the lid up and pour the coffee a bit more slowly. 2) If you're a handy person, get a little hammer and a small round rod, tap the spout to widen it and deepen it a bit.
