(More customer reviews)I have been using this set non-stop for over a month. I love it - it is the best non-stick surface I've ever used. I haven't had any problem with carbon build-up, but then again, I don't use non-stick cooking sprays - I use an oil spritzer. The difference between the two is that non-stick sprays contain soy lecithin which is totally fine and won't harm you in the least, but it builds up on your cookware over time. As long as you avoid these, any non-stick cookware should last you for years, assuming you use wooden or silicone utensils. I love that they are oven safe because the handles are silicone instead of rubber.

The pans have an aluminum construction that heats up quickly and helps reduce hot spots that can cook foods unevenly. The dual riveted stainless steel handles feature with a thick, comfortable silicone cover, and both the pan and silicone handle are oven safe to 600 degrees F. The long handles also include a hole for hanging. Earth Pan cookware works on all cooking surfaces, except for induction cookers.
The foundation of all Earth Pan cookware is the unique SandFlow nonstick coating that originates from sand--used to manufacture kitchenware like glass and silicone bakeware. Just like the nonstick pans you've used over the years, Earth Pan cookware is formulated to provide excellent food release without use of cooking oils, and the pans are easy to clean. Based on industry lab tests, SandFlow nonstick surfaces are three times more durable than ceramic-based surfaces and they require 33 percent less energy to cure than traditional nonstick pans.
The SandFlow coating does not contain PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, also known as the brand name Teflon) or PFOA (a key processing agent in making nonstick and stain-resistant materials, including Teflon)--both of which have raised health concerns in recent years. Laboratory animals exposed to high doses of PFOA suffered cancer, low birth weight and a suppressed immune system, though PTFE-manufactured nonstick cookware is considered an insignificant exposure source of PFOA.
This pans are dishwasher safe, though handwashing is recommended to ensure longevity. Metal utensils and abrasive cleaners or brushes should be avoided. Earth Pan's packaging material and inserts are made from at least 50 percent recycled fiber with all materials being 100 percent recyclable.

(More customer reviews)We have had the 10" griddle for 2 weeks. My husband uses it almost every morning. How do I clean it? Rinse it out with a little dish soap! This is the best piece of non-stick cookware I have ever owned. It is so much better than the old Teflon, and easier on the environment.
07-24-09: Here's an update, Gang. We have two of these now, and they are still going strong. Do not put these in the dishwasher. My son made that mistake, and ruined his little griddle.
04-15-10: Another update. We still use these almost every day. The surfaces are still great.

(More customer reviews)This cookware does the job providing even heat throughout your cooking process. The surface is super slick but gives you a nice foundation for searing, braising and pan frying and lends itself to a variety of sauce making applications. A simply pan reduction sauce is a snap and cleanup is a breeze, with paper towel no less. The nicest features are the stay cool recycled stainless steel handle mirrored with the ability to finish your meal preparation in the oven or broiler.
The deep rich browning created by this pan is uniform and flavorful. Don't let the competition sway you, cooking till black is not the new brown! So, if you are going green, get this cookware, it's certainly your next step! If you wish to look at one up close and feel the quality for yourself then head on over to your nearest Le Gourmet Chef outlet store, you will not be disappointed.
I recently prepared Chicken Marsala utilizing this pan and a Simply Calphalon Saute Pan. Both pans performed well but the golden brown searing and coloration was more developed in the Cuisinart pan. I also was able to adjust the gas at a lower flame under the Cuisinart pan. The Calphalon pan was searing at 8 out of 10 on the cook-top range whereas the Cuisinart pan was searing at 4 out of 10. The fond left on the pan from the searing in the Cuisinart pan was also more developed and added to the Marsala recipe quite nicely.
I will post a comment and update the link when I test the new Calphalon Unison searing pan against the Cuisinart GreenGourmet Saute pan.

Cuisinart GG-12 GreenGourmet Eco-Friendly Nonstick Hard Anodized 12-Piece Cookware Set Review

(More customer reviews)We have now been using this set for 6 months. When we first received and began using them, the pans were perfectly nonstick so that food including eggs could be cooked without any oil, and cleaning was fast and easy. Unfortunately this is no longer true -- the pan we've used most often now requires oil in order than food doesn't stick, despite hand-washing and following the manufacturer's other directions. If no oil is used, the pan is like a traditional pan and not only does food stick, but the pan requires prolonged soaking and scrubbing to get it clean. You must also be careful not to stack the pans (chipping and scratching).
The pan handles do not get hot, but the lid handles do, so be prepared to use a potholder to move the lids.
The set must be hand-washed and handled carefully to avoid chipping, but this is not a problem for us.
I would have rated the set 5 stars had it retained its nonstick performance. The loss of the nonstick capacity and the subsequent difficulty with cleaning the pans drops my rating to two stars.
1/3/10 Edited to add: We've now been using this set for a year and I've noticed several minute to small chips out of the cooking surfaces of more that half the pieces. We do not use metal utensils (silicon only) and are careful with cleaning and storing. One piece has also absorbed the smell of the food that was cooked in it. I am now looking for a different set of cookware, and regret buying this one. While I prefer a "green," eco-friendly product, I think this one needs some improvements in quality and design.

(More customer reviews)This griddle is exactly what I was looking for - it heats evenly, it's lightweight, it fits exactly over two burners, and it's got a cutout on one corner to pour out the grease. The ceramic cooking surface is very non-stick and stays that way over time. Do not use non-stick sprays (not that you need them), as they will leave a residue over time that's impossible to clean up. Using only a small amount of butter or oil, all of my Green Gourmet pans are as clean and non-stick as they were when I bought them. Cuisinart says they're dishwasher safe, but I've never seen the need to do so; they've never needed more than a few wipes with a soapy sponge to get completely clean.

Lifetime Camp Table with Stove Rack Review

(More customer reviews)This is a very nice table. It's somewhat heavy at around 30 pounds, but it is very sturdy and stable. It's impossible to see the construction in the pictures, but it is a hollow plastic table top (like kids toy construction) that adds a good deal of strength to the top. The legs are metal and feel very sturdy. The legs fold under the top and latch into position so they aren't flopping around when you carry it. The folding rack is a very nice touch although I wont always be using it. I plan to use the table as a combination patio table and campling table, and it really is perfect for that.
