(More customer reviews)I like the lid. It is the only lid on/near the stove, because it fit all the pots and pans that I have. But you need to be careful when using it, I got burnt by hot water a couple of times before I get wise. Basically, the vapor will condense and drip along the handle. If you are like me, pick up the lid and than hold the lid up side down using the handle ... you will get burn. Otherwise, it is good piece of kitchen ware.
But I wish its glass top is bigger, and the trap door isn't really necessary. If the designer insist on it, how about one without the spring? Also, it is a bit difficult to clean with all those holes, unless you put it in dish washer.
UPDATE: The latch of the handle melted ... and I throw that away immediately, how can a handle of a pot cover melt? Good idea, design, poor material choice.

It takes high temps, hot oil, and smoke without a care and cleans up easily with a run under the hot water and a little soap. It's a definite must-have for any kitchen that frys, sautes, or just pan sears (especially if you follow the rule of Bobby Flay and get your pans a smokin'!).
Given the amount that we use it now, we wonder how we ever got along without it before!

(More customer reviews)they've really thought out this product. not only is it solidly constructed, but the mesh is extremely tight and the legs prevent it from sitting directly on the counter, so you don't get oil all over your countertop. because it is all stainless, it can go right in the dishwasher. the whole thing makes sense!

(More customer reviews)This thing is exactly what I was looking for. Sturdy and durable (doesnt bend) with an ultra fine mesh screen. I think this is the 13 inch size (use for 12 inch skillets). It may seem that it is easy to find a splatter screen, but most of the ones out there are crap so people end up breaking them or not using them. I was looking for a good one for months, and this is the best out of the dozen or so that I looked at (including the ridiculous $50 All Clad model). Although not absolutely necessary for me, I like the added feet so that you can set this down without making a mess.

Oxo Good Grips Splatter Screen with Folding Handle Review

(More customer reviews)You have to be careful when you lift it off the pan that you keep it horizontal because if you raise it to a vertical position, it will double back and you will risk getting hot grease, or hot water/steam on you.
As far as the amount of splatter control, I don't find that it is a lot better than normal splatter screens. I have to lay a paper towel over the top while frying as there still is too much splatter.
I find that the fitting on top of pans is about somewhat better than a regular splatter screen, but not as good as I was expecting.
I bought a new dishwasher that the racks are adjustable, but it still will only fit in one place in my dishwasher or it will flop around.

With that type, food still splatters when it is lifted up to check on the food or turn it. The Norpor keeps the rest of the cooktop clean. I used it around my counter top grill to keep the splatters off the counter and wall.
