(More customer reviews)An absolute necessity for cast iron cooking. Works great with the Le Creuset, of course, but is also fantastic with Lodge pans (I have 8, 10 & 12"). I've found that it is actually a little tighter on my Le Creuset handles than Lodge. To me, the most practical aspect of a silicone handle sleeve is the fact that I can leave it on without worry while scrubbing the warm pan. I have a Lodge cloth holder, but with that I have to be much more careful to avoid getting it wet. Not that water hurts the cloth holder, but water does 2 things to the cloth - it takes a while to dry, but most importantly it loses all of its insulating capacity. Neither is an issue at all with silicone, and unlike cloth, cleaning this little item is as simple as tossing it into the dishwater (or dishwasher), much easier than having to wash a cloth holder in the laundry. So to me, the silicone has major advantages over the cloth holder; I have two of these. I will note, however, that while on the stove the handle, as another reviewer said, does get pretty warm. It absolutely protects you from accidental burns, and I can certainly move the pan, but I find it a bit uncomfortable (hot) to actually fully pick up a food-filled pan and move it without using an additional pot holder. Someone else said something about leaving it on the pan in the oven. It makes absolutely NO sense to leave it on! If you put any object, silicone or not, into a 400 degree oven, it's going to warm up to 400 degrees!!! Put the pan in the oven, take off the handle sleeve, then when you go back to take it out, slip the (cool) handle sleeve back on. Now it will work as intended - as an INSULATOR! Four stars because of the need for an extra holder after the pan's been on the stove a while, and it's just a bit tight. Otherwise, perfect. Happy cooking!

Wilton Oven Liner 16.25 inch by 23 Inch Black Review

(More customer reviews)These are not what I expected and work differently that I thought. You should know that you can't put them in the bottom of the oven like the cheap aluminum one I was trying to replace. You are supposed to put it on the bottom rack in your oven. Well I only HAVE 2 racks and this takes up one of them. It doesn't really say if you can put things on the liner and it would be hard to because these liners are about the thickness of a garbage bag and slicker than goose #!*@. When I tried to slide a pan onto the rack this liner was on, the liner just slid to the back of the rack and crumpled up. Maybe I'm using them wrong but if so, the included directions for use are really bad.

Built Arlo Oven Mitt Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased two sets (oven mitt and pot holder) for my mother and significant other to replace their existing (cheap and worn) mitts. They both loved the ergonomics and appearance/styling of the neoprene and it fit their hands well. However, the matching pot holder is designed for medium to large female hands and did not fit my significant other's small hands well (tends to slide out of her hand).
I would give the oven mitt 5 stars, but the neoprene is NOT stable at 450+F (description says "up to 500F"). After regularly using the mitt for over a month, my significant other recently grabbed a cookie sheet in our [calibrated] oven at 450F and it slightly melted the neoprene side of the mitt. My recommendation is to avoid touching 400+F pans/sheets to the neoprene and only contact the rubber grip, which is 500F safe.

(More customer reviews)It says this is a 2 burner grill pan but that is so wrong. It does not cover 2 burners it sits in the middle of each burner causing the handles to be right ove both burners. Very dissapointing, I love the le creuset normally and was really looking forward to having a grill pan made by them. Unfortuanatelly due to the shape it will not work for just one burner either. Hopefully they will come out with an updated one, until then my search for a good 2 burner grill pan continues.

of an electric stove or even above the burner and bottom pan of a gas stove I
can assure you the temperature will be over 550F when the burner comes on.
If you've ever used the browning or broil setting you know how very hot a
surface gets when a red hot element is shining upon it. The same would happen
to anything under the electric element.
The silicone decomposes and might burn and the odor and smoke would ruin your
food. It could also cause you eye injury. Silicones are a major eye irritant.
When silicone is cured as in a mat it won't come off onto your hands.
Many hand lotions contain a silicone. The Dimethicone in many 'good' lotions
works well to seal in skin moisture. And if you happen to rub your eye it will
sting for hours. Imagine lots of silicone smoke particles in the air, eyes,
and lungs. I'm a materials scientist. Silicones are a terrific material. They like
everything have limits to their performance and a downside when they degrade.
Keep the silicone away from direct heat of the electric element or the metal
pan just above the flames of a gas stove.

(More customer reviews)Maybe garlic squoosher would be a better description--lay the mat on the counter, fold it over your garlic clove, and give it a whack. Then reveal your garlic clove, ready for hand-peeling, without a knife. I agree that this use pales in comparison with use as a jar opener (you'll throw those little rubber disks away), potholder, and counter protector.
However, because I often take my hot meal to the computer, on my lap, the best use I've found for these mats, which don't conduct heat, is as a layer under my dinner plate. You may use it either as a layer over another plate to prevent heat conduction (because the mat is tacky, there are no plate-sliding surprises) or directly on your lap.
