(More customer reviews)I got a set just like this as a Christmas gift two years ago. I'm a fan of KitchenAid, and I have a lot of appliances and gadgets from them, but this particular set was a disappointment... maybe I just got a "lemon".
Within less than 6 months of use the nonstick coating on both pans started to chip off, forming a couple of unsightly "holes" on the surface of the pans, leaving me wondering if my family is ingesting tiny pieces of that coating with pancakes and omelets... The pans have never gone in the dishwasher (even though it says "dishwasher safe"), and I only use wooden and silicone spatulas with them. I ended up throwing the two pans away shortly after, since I didn't have a receipt or keep the warranty paperwork for it. The sauté pan, while still in use and with the nonstick coating intact, got warped after about a year, balancing itself on one middle point on my flat top range... On the positive side, the pots are still fine, but I don't use them much, the handles are very comfortable and the color adds to a cheerful kitchen.
Bottom line, it's a nice "pretty" set, but if you plan to actually cook in it, I would not recommend it based on the experience I had with it.

All-Clad Panini Pan with Press Review

(More customer reviews)I have nothing but praise for this pan. I have been using it 4-5 times per week since I purchased it.
The pan heats quickly and evenly and gives that perfect grilled crust to everything I have tried. It did take some practice to get the temperature and timing down - I heat the press on another burner at 9/10 and the pan at about a 4/10. That gives me the perfect browning to both sides while also allowing enough time for the sandwich to get hot throughout. All Clad gives some advice on timing and procedure, but I think my system works better. Be aware, the handle of the pan stays cool but the press handle can get hot.
The listing does not say, but the press is cast iron and quite heavy. Cleanup of the press and pan is easy. The non-stick of the pan works well and the cast iron cleans up easily (I always butter or oil what I am grilling, so ymmv).
I now get perfect sandwiches every time, and never have to worry about all the things that can go wrong with an electric panini press. I am sure this pan will give me many years of great service.

(More customer reviews)This is a very high quality, heavy weight canner. It practically screams, "Industrial strength!" The slide clips and screw-downs securely fasten the lid to the pot. No blow-outs with this baby. The weighted pressure gauge makes operation almost foolproof. And no gasket required! Before purchasing a canner, I did a lot of reading in the rec.food.preserving news group. I saw endless inquiries about sources for gaskets for canners ranging from a few years old to many decades old. It was clear some of these people had spent many, many hours in search of a gasket. Avoiding the need for a gasket became a major criteria for my purchase.
I've had my canner for a couple years and am still impressed with the quality. There are only two negatives I can think of. The heavy weight of the canner is a plus for strength and longevity, but it can work against you. The canner weighs 20 pounds when it's empty. Unless you work out regluarly, you're not going to fill the canner on the counter and then carry it to the stove. The other potential negative is the height. This canner requires at least a 16 inch clearance over your range. If your range has an upper oven the canner might not fit.
