(More customer reviews)Purchased this kettle back in December and have been using it ontop of my woodstove to humidify the air. First off, what's pictured is a bronze/gold colored handle; however, when I got it, the handle was actually silver. It was a little annoying, but it was no bigie for me. I bought this because it has a porcelain enamel finish so the inside would not rust (as opposed to traditional cast iron kettles without an enamel finish). Well, after about 2 months of use, it began to rust on the inside. I looked at where it was rusting and it appears the inside of the kettle was not completely finished in enamel (looks like they missed some spots in the coating process). Contacted the seller and the only have a 30 day return policy so I'm stuck with it. :( Too bad for me, but maybe not for whoever might read this review.

LL Bean doesn't carry that particular product any longer. This looked comparable, but when it arrived we were terribly disappointed at how small it is!

(More customer reviews)got this for my nephew who loves fire. he wanted to keep track of the flue temps on our wood stove and it works as advertised. I gave it 4 stars because of the instruction on drilling the hole in the pipe. don't drill what they say, go a size smaller and it should fit much better.

(More customer reviews)This product is a typical very low quality example of poor manufacturing. The air control knobs had over a 1/4 inch gap so controlling the burn was impossible. I thought that perhaps I had received a faulty unit so I complained to the people who market this product, and they sent me a replacement feed door. The replacement had an even larger gap than the original. I thought I had seen the bottom of the barrel until I saw this piece of junk. Do not buy this unit."

Keeping it full of water while burning a fire to keep the house warm is a great way to keep moisture in the air. Before using this kettle, it became hard to breathe since my nose and throat would dry out. Now there are no worries!
I would recommend this kettle for anyone who uses a wood stove or burns a fire for household heat.

The fan blades are a little light so don't drop it but they can be easly reshaped. I'm glad I got the larger of the two models. It's a great visual indicator, if the blades are turning slow, that you need additional logs. On the other hand if you can feel the breeze, shut the damper. I'm glad I purchased the Ecofan.

(More customer reviews)This heat shield is great for reducing wall temps behind the stove. It should not be used for reducing recommended clearances of single wall pipe. Rather this should be used for added insurance.
The cool features are the simple 6 screw install and the two pieces that simply slide to make length/height adjustments.
The final install looks nice and does much to reduce back side clearance temps.

It helps me know when I have the stove "overfired" or when I need to add more wood and turn up the oxygen. We've named the zones "Papa Bear" (too hot), Mama Bear (too cold) and Baby Bear (just right). Yeah . . . I know, but I have young kids.
